Mestizo kittens are the majority in Mexico, followed by American shorthair, European shorthair, Bombay and Russian blue.

The list is completed by Siamese, Mexican domestic, American curl, Egyptian mau and snowshoe breeds.

According to information from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía, 57 out of 100 Mexican homes have a pet. Of these, 15% are cats, which is equivalent to just over 3 million across the country.
